A 50-year-old Orlando man was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a car while standing on a road in Spring Hill.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was standing on Northcliffe Boulevard when he was hit around 3:28 a.m. by a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta travelling westbound.
The collision that took place near Hayes Street sent the man onto the grass median. FHP said the man died at the scene.
The 25-year-old driver of New Port Richey was not harmed nor was his passenger, 24, of Trinity.
As of now, charges are pending in the case.
