Cincinnati Bengals Running Back Facing Battery Charges in Miami
The 21-year-old who now plays for the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals faces a battery charge.
Former Miami Hurricanes football star Mark Walton was arrested recently after police said an argument with a woman turned physical at a Miami parking garage.
According to a Miami Police Department spokesperson, Walton and a woman argued at 4:30 p.m. because he was blocking the entrance to a parking garage on Southeast Fifth Street.
The woman tried to film Walton with her phone, but he grabbed it, leading to a brief struggle. According to reports, Walton and the woman had minor scratches.
The next morning, they released Walton on bond.
If a person makes physical contact intending to injure, provoke, or insult another person, they can be charged. Simple battery is a first-degree misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail or 12 months probation and a $1,000 fine.
